Approach

"Informed teachers are our best insurance against reading failure. While programs are very helpful tools, programs don't teach, teachers do." -Louisa Moats

I combine my deep knowledge of teaching reading with years of experience supporting learners with diverse needs to design sessions that truly fit each child. Rooted in the Orton-Gillingham philosophy, my approach is structured, multisensory, and personalized—ensuring that each lesson is carefully tailored to how your child learns best. I use trusted programs as tools, but it’s the intentional, one-on-one instruction that makes the difference. When you reach out, you can feel confident knowing your child will be working directly with me in lessons designed to build skills, confidence, and a love of reading.

Lindamood-Bell LiPS® Program

The Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing® (LiPS®) program is designed to help students develop strong phonemic awareness — the ability to hear, feel, and think about the individual sounds in spoken words. LiPS® uses a unique, multi-sensory approach that helps students notice how their lips, tongue, and mouth work to produce each sound, making it easier to read, spell, and decode words accurately. This program is especially helpful for students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia, and builds a solid foundation for lasting reading and spelling success.

Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing® (V/V®) Program

The Visualizing and Verbalizing® program helps students strengthen their comprehension by teaching them how to create mental images while they read or listen. Many struggling readers can read words correctly but have trouble really understanding or remembering what they’ve read — V/V® addresses this by developing the imagery-language connection. Through guided practice, students learn to picture ideas, details, and concepts, which boosts their ability to follow stories, grasp main ideas, and retain information. This approach builds stronger thinking and comprehension skills that benefit reading, writing, and overall learning.

Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars® Program

The Seeing Stars® program is designed to help students develop stronger symbol imagery — the ability to visualize letters and words in their minds — which is crucial for accurate reading and spelling. Many struggling readers can sound out words but still mix up letters or have trouble remembering how words look. Seeing Stars® uses a step-by-step, multi-sensory approach to help students build and strengthen these mental images, making it easier to read fluently and spell correctly. This program is especially effective for children with reading difficulties, including dyslexia, and helps build the confidence they need to become independent readers.

Wilson Reading System®

The Wilson Reading System® is a structured, multi-sensory program designed for students who struggle with decoding and spelling, including those with dyslexia. It breaks reading and spelling down into manageable, sequential steps, using direct, explicit teaching to help students master sounds, word patterns, and rules. With plenty of practice and repetition, Wilson builds a deep understanding of how English works, giving students the tools and confidence they need to read and write with independence.

Lexercise Professional Therapy

Lexercise is a highly effective online tutoring program designed for students with dyslexia and other reading challenges. Grounded in the principles of Orton-Gillingham, Lexercise combines evidence-based structured literacy instruction with engaging digital practice to help students build strong reading, spelling, and language skills.
