Frequently Asked Questions
Every child learns differently, and I tailor my approach to meet those individual needs. I use aspects of structured literacy programs—like Wilson Reading, UFLI, and Lindamood-Bell—along with my expertise as a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist.
These programs are great tools, but at the heart of it all is the teacher. It’s the care, experience, and creativity behind the lessons that help kids truly grow and thrive.
Every student begins with an initial assessment to identify strengths and areas for growth. This helps me create an individualized tutoring plan with targeted goals.
Most students attend 1–3 sessions per week, depending on their needs and your family’s schedule. Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes long.
I offer both virtual and in-person sessions, depending on your location and preference.
The duration varies for each student. Some need short-term support to build specific skills, while others benefit from ongoing instruction to close gaps and maintain progress.
Yes! I provide regular feedback and progress reports, and I’m always available to discuss your child’s growth and answer any questions. I am also happy to speak with your child’s teacher to bridge the gap between tutoring and school. Communication is key!
Simply reach out through my contact form to schedule a time to chat. We’ll discuss your child’s needs, set up an assessment, and design a plan that works best for your family.
Each week, students participate in a 45-minute, one-on-one structured literacy lesson with me. Following the session, I assign targeted online practice for at least 15 minutes, four days per week. This ongoing practice reinforces new skills, while I track progress and collect data to identify mastery and areas needing continued support.

Lexercise games provide fun, interactive practice that reinforces the skills taught during lessons. Each game is designed to strengthen specific areas of reading, spelling, and language—such as phonemic awareness, decoding, and vocabulary—using a structured and systematic approach. The games adapt to each student’s skill level, offering immediate feedback and positive reinforcement to keep learning engaging and effective. Students complete their practice online, making it easy to build consistency and confidence between tutoring sessions.
